Devil’s Tower, Wyoming // 5 September
It was a cool and misty morning so we crossed our fingers the sun would help burn off the fog as we only had one day to visit the tower. It was surprisingly busy so we were lucky to get a park, apparently it’s common to wait an hour or more to get into the carpark. We stopped in at the Visitor Center then headed on the trail that circles the tower.

Walking around the tower we got views of the rock formations from all angles. We spotted some climbers starting their assent and also spotted a deer!

Prairie dog town… On the drive to Devil’s Tower you pass a prairie dog town, it’s pretty hard to resist stopping! There’s walking trails through the town and the prairie dogs are so used to people visiting that they stay out of their mounds and squeak to each other.

After our visit we stopped for lunch at the Devil’s Tower Gulch cafe/diner. It was an awesome wooden cabin style building and lunch was delicious!
