Miami, Florida // 25 June
Miami Beach was a short stop on our way north for some sightseeing and RV maintenance (we finally had some shade and slightly cooler weather to fix our awning – whoop!). Hitting the city traffic and spaghetti highways was a shock after the small islands of the keys. Robin did well in the traffic including the crazy roadworks we hit in the middle of the city. We drove along US Highway 1 – Beachside Avenue ogling the multi-million dollar mansions, then past the art deco architecture, and then found a nice spot to stroll along the broadway. The ocean was warm and flat and so was the beach. Crazy having such a big city right near the beach.

The architecture… Among the tourists there were people in designer beach attire going into the high-end cafes and restaurants. The fancy places had maître d’s and valets standing outside with reserved parking (on the super-packed esplanade) for their VIPs.
The city by the beach… Huge!
The beach… This was about 7pm so it had cooled off, lots of people where heading home after their Sunday at the beach.
