Fancy Gap, Virginia and Monroe, Virginia // 10-13 July
We had another one night stop at Fancy Gap KOA before stopping at Blue Ridge Parkway KOA for three nights. It was good to have a chill few days to get into the groove of school late nights. The area was gorgeous with farms and old style barns, and the campsites were shaded and tucked into woodlands. The nights started to cool off and we enjoyed some campfires and watching the fireflies at dusk.
We explored part of the Appalachian Trail, where it crosses the James River via a dedicated footbridge, and stopped at Otter Creek Falls for a short walk.
