Luray, Virginia // 14 July
We stopped at Luray Caverns on our way to our campsite in Luray. The caverns are very popular, one of the largest in the area. They were discovered in the late 1800’s. It was by far the largest cave system I’ve seen and it was amazing as there were so many different formations and patterns. We were underground exploring for almost 2hrs! It’s nice and cool with a breeze travelling through the cave system. In one section they have guided the airflow to a building above, making it the first building in the US to have air-conditioning!
