Gettysburg, Pennsylvania // 21-24 July
In Gettysburg we stayed at Artillery Ridge Campground near the National Military Park. It’s also provides horse camping so has stables and exercise arenas. Quite a few people had brought their horses along camping! There are bridle trails throughout the Military Park. We spent our first day touring the Military Park and visitor center, then on the Sunday we were lucky to catch CornFest at the nearby Round Barn.
CornFest… The Round Barn was a gorgeous old style circular barn. We lined up with the crowd for our freshly steamed corn and pulled pork rolls. For dessert there was freshly grilled peaches and ice cream. Amazing! There was also live music and a farm shop in the basement of the barn. I got some peach salsa and peach jam, yum!
