Bryce Canyon City, Utah // 25, 26 October
Bryce Canyon was absolutely stunning. It’s at surprisingly high elevation so it was our first taste of some cooler weather. We visited the park over two days as it was super close to our RV Park. It’s a really popular National Park with lots of tour groups passing through as they visit Utah’s National Parks. Some people we spoke to were visiting four or five parks in just a week!
Visitor Center… We stopped off first at the Visitor Center. They had a cool little human-sized prairie dog town model.
Sunset Point and Sunrise Point… Our next stop was Sunset Point where we did the hike loop to Sunrise Point. This really was an incredible spot. The view from here was breathtaking. It was amazing to hike through the tall rock formations (called hoodoos). The hike snaked down into the canyon then back up.
Inspiration Point and the Windows… Another viewpoint, no hiking required here.
Rainbow Point… We visited the highest point in the park to take in the views.
Peek-a-boo loop trail… The next day Claire and I did an amazing horseback ride through the canyon. It was on the Peek-a-boo loop which started close to where we’d hiked the day before but ventured much further into the canyon, taking around 3hrs. The horses were incredible as there’s so much up and down and the paths are quite narrow. It was a little hairy in a few spots but we were assured they were sure-footed.
