Breckenridge is a very pretty little town right next to the Breckenridge Ski Resort. The high street buildings are very traditional giving it a lot of charm. We found a brilliant little place for an all-American BBQ lunch. Town was super busy as it was the weekend so we parked at the park n ride and caught the shuttle right to the main gondola. From there it’s a short walk along the river into the Main Street.
Around Breckenridge and the snow sculptures… The International Snow Sculpture Championships were on in Breckenridge drawing crowds of spectators. We drove past before the competition started and saw the huge blocks of snow untouched. Later on in the week we saw the final sculptures. Very impressive!
Walk to visit the troll… Just outside town near the ice skating rink is a small trail leading to a troll sculpture. The sculpture was created for an art festival then moved here to its permanent home, making it a popular walk.
