Jackson, Wyoming // 31 December
We went into Jackson for New Years Eve as they had a torch light parade and fireworks at the local ski hill, Snow King Mountain. The festivities started at 7.30pm. We took our flask of hot choc and joined the crowd. It was pretty chilly so after the fireworks around 8.30pm we were happy to wrap up our night and head back to the warm RV.
The torch parade was worth the wait, it was super impressive. I’m sure there were around 500 people who came down the mountain. Afterwards they discarded their torches (flares) in a metal bin which gave off so much light. The fireworks afterwards went on for ages and ages. The Americans definitely take their fireworks seriously.
