Along with the campsite it has picnic areas, a swim pond (lake version of a Southbank-type pool), playgrounds, a fishing pier and a network of hiking\/cross-country skiing trails (depending on the season). It was scorching when we arrived so the swim pond was very busy! We were back to needing the air-con, especially as the kiddos had school for the first night, and it was not cooling off. Luckily it cooled off slightly over the next few days as we explored Mineapolis-St Paul and went to the Minnesota State Fair. Lake Elmo was super handy and it was very easy getting around Mineapolis-St Paul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1
